My Education Articles

As a freelance writer, I have written numerous articles on education topics - one of my favorite areas to write about, for obvious reasons - including general and special education, traditional and online learning, autism and other developmental disorders, learning disabilities, and child development issues as they relate to learning and cognitive development.

I decided my blog would be the perfect place to showcase a selection of some of my favorite education articles. I have listed them by categories and titles for each article, hyperlinked to the full articles, and included the first couple sentences or paragraphs.

I apologize in advance for the quirks of particular sites where these articles have been published, as I had no control over ads placed, pictures or references omitted, or other poor formatting issues. In most cases, the titles were also not my choice, as I wrote these for various content companies who furnished titles and keywords.

I just thought of doing this today (1-23-2012), so I'm only getting started with my compilation! This will be an ongoing process, since I have so many to consider (literally 500+) - and will likely write more!

A multiple intelligences test is way to measure a person's strength in different proposed areas of intelligence, including visual/spatial, mathematical/logical, and bodily/kinesthetic. The theory of multiple intelligences was developed by psychologist and Harvard professor, Howard Gardner, to explain how humans interact with the world around them as part of the learning process. According to the theory, learning styles are intrinsically related to multiple intelligences. A multiple intelligences test can help pinpoint a student's learning style and indicate appropriate teaching strategies.

Articulation worksheets are learning materials primarily used by speech therapists to help children and adults who have speech disorders learn to enunciate individual letter sounds, blends and words. Sometimes speech therapists incorporate articulation cards into speech therapy games to reinforce learning and phonological awareness simultaneously with a fun activity.
