A is for Always Learning

I decided to join a new blog challenge - this time the "A to Z April Blogging Challenge."  The task for this challenge is to write one blog post each day, Monday through Saturday, for the month of April - for a total of 26 posts. Ah HA - yes, that's it - one post for each letter of the alphabet.

The challenging part of the challenge is that the topic of each post has to match that day's letter of the alphabet - so today, of course, on April 1st, we start with the letter "A." So since this is an educational blog, it's only natural to choose "A" is for "Always Learning."

I don't think we ever stop learning - if we do, we might start losing brain cells! In fact, another "A" word - Alzheimer's -  impairs brain cells and cognitive functioning. One of the strategies to reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer's is to keep your mind active - another "A" word!

What better way to do that than study a subject, out of interest or necessity, and then continue to apply what you learn. Whether you take a single course, or work toward a degree, learning is a lifelong experience. eLearning - taking courses online - simply makes it easier and more convenient, and keeps  those brain cells active as they acquire the new knowledge necessary to keep up with this technological age.

  1. Welcome to the challenge! Thanks for your post I totally agree with you that it's important to continue to always be learning. That's what led me into librarianship, as you never know what you are going to learn on a given day. I am also a fan of elearning, as I work at a distance education provider, and am studying my library qualifications by elearning. Good luck for the challenge, I look forward to reading more.

  4. Now you have another follower and I'm one who's always learning. There's going to be a lot of learning going on in April so far.

Glad to have you in the challenge.

Contrary to my usual practice of subscribing to comments, to save time during challenge I will not be doing so during April. If you want to respond to my comment , please email me directly from your email notification for the comment.
    Thanks.

  5. Wifilibrarian, Lynette, Clarissa, and Arlee - thanks for your comments! I appreciate your feedback.

*Wifilibrarian: Good luck in your studies! Are you working on your MLIS degree? I love having the opportunities to study online. I wouldn't have been able to earn my M.Ed. degree or pursue my Ed.D. degree as I am now without elearning.

*Lynette: Yes, that's me, too - ADDICTED to learning, and elearning/distance learning especially!

*Clarissa: Thanks to you mentioning this challenge, I now have this elearning blog up and running again! :-)

*Arlee said to contact him by email, so I will - but I appreciate his organizing this challenge and providing the hashtag!

    Thanks again to all!

  6. K'Lee, I stumbled upon your blog through Dani's blogging tribe and am so excited to be in touch. =)

I have a background in neuroscience and am also a big believer in keeping our brains active by continually challenging ourselves with new information and by picking up new abilities. Blogging is also my new challenge, so I'm looking forward to learning from you and through your journey as well. =) I've subscribed, so we'll be in touch soon! =)
